As we all know BPL is knocking at the door, it is evident that the whole nation will pass through a 'T20 fever'. The dazzling and most highlighted T20 league in Bangladesh is supposed to be kicked off from 20th January with the match of Sylhet Sixers versus Rangpur Riders. Well, the history of Bangladesh Cricket Team in T20s is of ups and downs. So, the selector panel of BCB and the fans of Bangladesh Cricket Team is looking forward to getting new , promising and long-lasting talents from BPL. Meanwhile, many of the team's key players are off colors in T20 internationals. In this blog,  let's look back to their performances and the factors for their certain failures in this fortmat and the probable solutions through analysis. We will go through player by player analysis.

Today, our player for analysis is Mushfiqur Rahim.

Mushfiqur is considered to be the batsman with most solid technique in Bangladesh Cricket Team. He has proven that in longer versions like ODIs and TESTs. But it's been a sad story in T20s. He has an average below 20 and strike rate below 120, which is very poor in the context of T20. His failure in T20 continued during the latest series against Windies. Let's analyze some of his good and bad performances before windies series.

Failures:

1. Against India in Nidahas Trophy- got out at 18- team run rate was  7 rpo when he came into crease- 7.35 rpo when he got out- got out at 8.5 overs

2. Against India in Nidahas Trophy- got out at 9- team run rate 6.6 rpo  when he came into crease- 6.7 rpo when he got out- got out at 10.1 overs

3. Against Afghanistan - got out at 20(17)- team run rate 5.7 rpo  when he came into crease- 7.8 rpo when he got out- got out at 10.1 overs

4. Against Afghanistan - got out at 22(18)- team run rate 6.6 rpo  when he came into crease- 7.5 rpo when he got out- got out at 9.5 overs

Successes:

1.Against Srilanka in Nidahas Trophy - 72 runsteam run rate 10 rpo  when he came into crease

2. Against Indiin Nidahas Trophy - 72 runsteam run rate 9.5 rpo  when he came into crease

3. Against Afghanistan - 46 runsteam needed 7.7 rpo  when he came into crease

So, from these stats and analyses, we can see that when Mushfiq came into crease if the team run rate  was healthy, his good performance came out. But when the run rate was poor he failed to keep a notable performance. In each of his failure, he got out at the middle of the innings. As he bats at 4-5 in T20s like other formats , he can't come into crease before 5-6 overs. But the more lately a batsman comes into crease in T20s , the more he has the urgency of accelerating runs. As Mushfique is not a such type of batsman to score 50-55 in 5 overs but he can manage a run rate of in consistent basis for a long time. So, it is logical that Mushfiq should bat earlier than his regular position in T20s. But what can be a good position for him? It can be from opening to number 3. It should be reminded that, he has opened innings in a match against Zimbabwe where he scored 98.
