Staff Correspondent:  Boycotting classes and examinations, students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College continued their demonstration for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in front of the institute's Bailey Road branch over the suicide of one of their peers.

Holding placards, hundreds of students along with their guardians gathered in front of the gate protesting the suicide of a ninth grader, Aritry Adhikary, after her parents were humiliated by the school authorities after the student was suspected of plagiarism.

The suicide of Class IX student Aritree Adhikari of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) allegedly after being scolded by her teachers sparked rage among students and guardians on Tuesday.

The guardians took position in front of the school’s Bailey Road campus and staged demonstrations demanding removal of the accused teachers and the principal.

Meanwhile, two separate probe committees were formed to probe the suicide incident.

A case has been filed against three persons including Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Principal Naznin Ferdous over the suicide of schoolgirl Aritree Adhikari.

Victim’s father Dilip Adhikari filed the case with Paltan Police Station on Tuesday night accusing the trio of provoking Aritee to committing suicide.
Aritree Adhikari, a Class-IX student, reportedly committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in the city on Monday after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.
